What is the Racks & Raquets Retreat like?

The Racks & Raquets Retreat is a thoughtfully curated luxury weekend designed around ease, play, and connection. It’s an opportunity to step away from everyday responsibilities and spend meaningful time with friends—whether that means training on the tennis court, relaxing at the spa, enjoying mahjong, or simply slowing down together. Every detail is handled so you can arrive, settle in, and enjoy.

Is the retreat structured or flexible?

The retreat is intentionally designed to be flexible. While there are scheduled tennis sessions and curated mahjong experiences, you are encouraged to choose how you spend your time and move at your own pace throughout the weekend.

What level of tennis is this retreat for?

The tennis programming is designed for recreational players levels 3.0 and above. Sessions are led by high-level coaches who provide thoughtful instruction and individualized feedback, allowing players to work on their game in a supportive, elevated environment.

Who are the coaches?

Our coaches bring elite-level experience and a refined, approachable teaching style. Each coach is carefully selected to ensure a high-quality, supportive training environment that balances technical instruction with enjoyment of the game. Full coach bios can be found here.

Do I have to play tennis to attend?

Not at all. Tennis is one part of the retreat, but it’s entirely optional. The mahjong and wellness experience centers on spa treatments, mahjong, relaxation, and time to connect with friends. The weekend is intentionally designed so tennis and leisure coexist seamlessly, and guests are welcome to add padel play or lessons to their experience if they wish.

What level of mahjong is this retreat for?

The mahjong programming is designed for social play. All levels of play are welcome, but basic mahjong game play knowledge is encouraged. Mahjong sessions are led by high-level instructors who provide real-time guidance, allowing players to improve their game strategy in a low pressure, highly enjoyable environement.

Can I come with a friend?

Yes—this retreat is designed to be enjoyed with friends. We encourage you to attend with a roommate or a group. Shared accommodations make it easy to spend quality time together throughout the weekend. Rates are quoted as double occupancy.

How do rooming arrangements work?

Accommodations are designed to be double occupancy. If you’re registering with a friend or group, you’ll be placed together. If you’re attending solo, you will have the option to upgrade to a single occupancy rate.

What’s included in the retreat?

Your retreat experience includes accommodations, all scheduled tennis programming, access to spa amenities, mahjong sessions, spa access, daily breakfast and refreshments, and a fully curated Racks & Raquets weekend experience at an exclusive member's-only resort.

What should I pack?

After registration, you’ll receive a detailed packing guide. In general, we recommend casual resort wear, and anything you personally enjoy having for downtime. Note that the resort has a dress code that prohibits crop tops and ripped jeans. Full details will be provided two weeks before departure.

How do I get there?

Ocean Reef Club is approximately 40 minutes from Miami International Airport. We recommend renting a car for ease of travel, though private transportation can also be arranged directly through the hotel. Once on property, a car is not necessary—each hotel room includes access to golf carts for getting around throughout the weekend.

What if I’m an Ocean Reef Club member and don’t want to stay at the hotel?

A special discounted rate is available for Ocean Reef Club members who prefer to arrange their own accommodations. This option does not include a hotel room or golf cart. Please email us to receive a special discount code and additional details.

What is the cancellation policy?

Because space is limited and accommodations are reserved in advance, a 50% deposit is nonrefundable upon registration. You may cancel until January 5th for a refund of the remaining cost.

After January 5th, the full registration fee becomes final and non-cancelable. If you have any questions prior to registering, we encourage you to reach out before securing your spot.
